Barbara Ann (Kunz) Alberts

Age: 62 • Long Branch

Barbara Ann (Kunz) Alberts, 62, of Long Branch, formerly of Little Silver, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, with her loving family by her side. Barbara was a beautiful, selfless and loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, aunt and sister. For 22 years, she worked as a Learning Assistant at Brookdale Community College. She befriended and mentored countless students, and was an inspiration to her family, colleagues and friends. She loved the beach, sports, good food and most of all spending time with her friends and family. Her contagious smile, infectious laugh, upbeat personality and heart of gold will be missed most.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents and in June of 2005 by her loving husband, Michael J. Alberts. She is survived by her daughter, Michele; sons, Dave and wife Sarah and Dan, loving grandmother of Austin and second grandson who will be born in September, devoted sister of Tom and wife Rose, Michael and Ron and wife Karen and mother and father-in-law, James and Marian Alberts. She was a beloved sister-in-law, aunt and cousin to many. She will be missed dearly by all, but perhaps most by her loving and devoted dog, Magee. We love you Mom.

A memorial gathering will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 10, with a service at 5:30 p.m. at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank. Interment will be private.
