Friends and Family Share Their Memories

Eileen was the model, proactive patient, and her devoted son Eric was the all time most amazing advocate.  Eric was tireless in his pursuit of options for Eileen, and he was continually researching the most cutting-edge options and seeking out the most creative oncology teams and experts nationwide.  Eileen was so very blessed to have Eric at her side throughout!  If every cancer patient had an “Eric” in his or her corner, we would be seeing much improved patient survival and quality of life.  While everyone involved on Eileen’s challenging and ever-evolving cancer journey wanted to see a far different outcome, we each know one thing: no stone was left unturned in her battle for life, and it was Eric who made absolutely sure of that.  We send our deepest condolences to Eric and the Nakano family, and we mourn Eileen’s passing.  We will never forget Eileen, and we will always be in awe of her beloved son Eric’s advocacy on her behalf—which is a model for our entire ICAN global network of patients and families.
