Overview of
The Susan Leslie Heffron Palliative Care Program
Because of our Generous Supporters, ICAN patients involved in
The Susan Leslie Heffron Palliative Care Program
have access to the following information services:
The Susan Leslie Heffron Palliative Care Program will focus on advanced cancer patients who are not candidates for hospice but who need home health care assistance and companionship.
Susan's Program will address the needs of single patients from all economic backgrounds who do not have family and support systems nearby.
This Program was inspired by Susan, who was greatly assisted by her cherished sister Nancy, throughout the course of her battle with advanced melanoma. Susan's desire in establishing this Program--and ICAN's wish in honoring Susan through the naming of this Program--will address the unmet needs of patients who are battling lethal cancers and who do not have family or close friends nearby to help manage the daily complexities of their care.
If you have home health care experience or would like to volunteer for the Heffron Program as a Pre-Hospice Partner for a patient or patients, please email us at SusanHeffronProgram@askican.org or call us at 602-618-0183.
The Susan Leslie Heffron Palliative Care Program
is a vital part of ICAN's Cancer Patient Advocacy and Clinical Trials Program Advocacy Services.
ICAN is currently working on The Susan Leslie Heffron Palliative Care Program. We are working to put together a Family and Friends Advisory Council for the The Susan Leslie Heffron Palliative Care Program. If interested, please email us at Susan.Heffron.Program@askican.org.
If you would like to become involved as a donor and supporter or a member of our Cancer Research Literature team as a Research Team Leader (medical school students, physicians, nurses, and post-docs only please), you may reach us at Susan.Heffron.Program@askican.org.
