Friends and Family Share Their Memories

From Friends

Recently someone gave me this advice: adopt a trait or characteristic about the person that you admired. That way they are always with you. Siminya, you had so many traits I admired but I choose to live my life as fabulous and fashionably as you ;).;

~Lindsey Love

"I will cherish the memories of your love, laughter, and friendship. You were a consistent light in my life dear friend. I will honor your legacy and live each day 1010Strong."

~Edmon Yohannes

Siminya was an incredible person. She was loving, caring and always happy. She was always there to share a funny story and a good laugh. I'll miss the times when we could all just sit and laugh for hours. Siminya was such a joy and I will miss her so much. She was the type of person I would want my daughters to emulate; God fearing, caring and genuine. Anyone who has the privilege of knowing Siminya was truly blessed and now we have a beautiful angel in heaven.

~Alex Bradberry

Siminya, my memories of you are filled with smiles and laughter. Your positivity and strength still motivates me today. And when I pass Last Chance, I shout out "whoop whoop" in memory of you!

~Kemi

My favorite Simi adventure was the year we traveled the US. We had so much fun and that road trip to San Fran was crazy!! I will always love and miss you Sim Sima. ❤.

~Clishe Larke

Siminya sure knew how to light up a room with her beautiful smile. She was truly a beautiful woman not only on the outside but more importantly on the inside. Her quick wit brought laughter and joy to everyone around her. A heart of gold that will be missed dearly. As Siminya always said, "Let go, Let God.

~Summer B

Do you remember when we had the paint party in middle school, the acronyms we came up with, our Coming to America moments, or us just ridding around in "T-Bizzle" and the "Jercedes"? All of these memories stay with me, and make me chuckle. I still can't believe that you are gone, but I know that you are at peace and God has now made you one of my angels above. I loved the fact that no matter how much time or how far the distance, every time we got a chance to see each other, that we could reminisce and recreate these moments together. I will cherish all of our moments in time together. Love you always.

~ Alisha aka Lisha

Siminya, you inspired me by how you lived each day. When i was destitute, you offered all that you had in order to lift me up. Of all the experiences i have had on this earth, you are the best experience God has granted me.  A shining example of a Christian, loving as Jesus loved, showing us all how we as Christians should live our lives. You are beautiful, humble! I love you

~Aleigha Dorame

Siminya was a true friend that I bragged about and told everyone how beautiful, smart an hilarious she was and always kept a smile on her face. Ever since, we met in high school we had a bond and I knew that no matter what our true friendship would always be there and to always have Faith. She will truly be missed but Forever in my heart ❤️

"Having you as a friend and a sister was a breath of fresh air, loosing you took it right back. Knowing that you are with the Lord calmed my anxious heart

From Family

Siminya was so much more than a person I knew; she  was an experience. To experience her was to change as a person. There will never be a more graceful, courageous & loving woman to walk this earth. My sister, my cousin, my friend  I love you always…

~Kay Jefferson

Siminya was always positive no matter the circumstances. I recall texting her to ask how she was. She sent me a text that read, " I'm doing great, about to get this chemo in. Turn up. I laughed out loud at her resilient spirt. I responded to her with, " You better go cousin. Turn up." Even though she was going through a great deal, Siminya never broke a sweat. The lesson that I learned from her, how to fight like a lady is one I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Simi I love you, thank you for being my big cousin/sister. Your life is truly a life of gold and we are so blessed to be your family.

~Love, Astari

"Siminya, I already will mess our Thelma and Louise moments. Every time we would go somewhere it was always a fun adventure. I miss us talking, laughing, shopping,  drinking coffee, and borrowing each other's clothes. You were my cousin, but you were also my little sister and my bestie. You inspired me so much."Love & miss you always.

~Nicki

" Siminya, from the beginning we were inseparable. As our love grew, it was clear that your virtuous nature was absolutely astounding and without compare. Sim, although you were without a doubt generous and caring you also were exclusive and deliberate. And of course I found myself more than privileged.  I miss you and I lovessss you more and forever. Oh yeah!

~ Samuel (Fiancee`)

Siminya was a once in a lifetime type of person, the kind of person that would provide a memorable experience after just one encounter…..”The Simi Experience”! I was lucky enough to have that experience for 30 amazing years lucky enough to witness first hand all the love, compassion, humor, energy, determination and just plain awesomeness of Siminya. As kids she drove me crazy like little sisters do always wanting to tag along and follow me and my friends, well now it’s my chance to follow in her footsteps and lead a life that is filled with living every day to the utmost and positively impacting as many people as possible. Little sister, I admire you and love you so very much, thank you for “the experience”  #1010strong

Siminya, I have been blessed beyond measure to have you as my sister. You have impacted and influenced me in so many ways; from choices in clothing, to what colleges I picked and how to be confident but not conceded. You always stood up for me just as a great big sis would. I always took pride in you being my sister. I loved to show off my beautiful, smart, classy, elegant, wonderfully made sister to everyone. Most of my guy friends had a crush on you and all the girls thought you were pretty awesome. It was always a privilege to hang out with you and sometimes you would make sure I knew it. You are my hero, an extremely strong person, devout christian, loving, compassionate and most of all you are my friend. I love you Sim-Sim, you will forever be remembered. You fought a courageous, strong fight. From you, I find my strength. #1010Strong

 “Do you want to build a snowman?”  I know I do.  Love you Sim

To my daughter and my friend,

Siminya I am so proud of how you lived your life. I watched you grow from a shy little girl to a bold, confident young lady. You needed others to hold your hand when you were small but later you held the hands of many as they went through life’s trials. As a toddler your speech was slow to form but God touched you and you grew into an advocate for others that didn’t have a voice. You had a way of lighting up a room with your 1000 watt smile, confident walk, compassionate touch and unconditional love.

You embodied and exemplified 1st Corinithans 13:4-8 Patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, is not proud,is not rude,is not self-seeking,  not easily angered, and she does not keep record of wrongs. ;
