The Kim Ian Madsen Prostate Cancer Program
I am inspired by the many incredible people I have met during my life, but especially in the last few years … and by the relationships that we have forged together over that time. Fortunately for me, I have been drawn to – or found by – mentors who have touched my life, ignited my talents and creativity, and pushed me beyond my expectations. It is to them that I owe my present success in my career and family life.
Meaning and purpose in my life became more apparent after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. After the initial shock, I threw myself into second gear and became proactive in learning about and weighing all my treatment options. Making decisions about which treatment option might save my life and bouncing around from one Physician to another was quite an ordeal. I am amazed at the number of people I have met that are all fighting this battle. But the good news in all this is the bonding between us and the network of information accumulated through this process. The best news of all is that ICAN was part of this networking and I was blessed to have met Marcia Horn who is part of my life today. The information I gained from this organization has lead me to the best care and treatment options possible. The most important element I gained was hope. Given what seemed like a second chance, I realized that I wanted to become part of the solution for this disease and was honored to be named National Prostate Cancer Spokesman for ICAN. I sincerely want to share the hope that lives within me with other men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and may be fighting for their lives..
My ultimate inspiration comes from my strong spiritual belief. "John 3:16"
To honor my lord and savior Jesus Christ, my family, and my church...to share hope with men concerning prostate cancer . To spearhead an incredible fundraising program for ICAN and be all over the media promoting saving lives thru the army created by Marcia Horn and her incredible staff. I am honored to be named ICAN’s national spokesman for prostate cancer.
